About me and my therapy practice
My name is Cherise and I am a BACP registered, qualified person-centred counsellor based in Crossgates, Leeds 15.
Person-centred counselling is a successful type of talking therapy and puts you at the heart of the therapeutic relationship. Simply put, this means that your sessions are all about you. I will follow your lead depending on what is most important to you.
I will not tell you what to do or give you specific advice, however I will support you, and provide a safe and relaxed environment where hopefully you will come to your own conclusions about the changes you want to make in your life.
If you decide to work with me, then you can be assured that you will be listened to, shown empathy and not judged.
Counselling does need a commitment towards change, and if I believe that a certain pattern or behaviour may be impacting on this change then I may notice this with you. This is purely an observation that I think would be beneficial to bring to your attention.
I have previously supported a number of young people aged 14 - 25 years old in counselling, and also through social services and the youth service. Working with young people is a professional area of interest for me. I have worked at The Market Place in Leeds supporting young people and counselled adults at Dayspring in Garforth.
I am happy to provide a free of charge phone consultation which will help us to build some rapport and discuss your reasons for accessing counselling, and how we might work together going forward.
