About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thanks for visiting…I am a fully qualified therapist, offering a warm, empathic, person-centred approach to help my clients safely explore and heal whatever is holding them back or causing them distress. I am originally from the US, and I trained and practiced in the New York City-area for many years before moving to Scotland. I use an integrative approach to look at what factors in your current life may be contributing to unhappiness or discomfort, while also looking to your past history to inform the present. Having had the privilege to work with diverse populations, I utilise a culturally sensitive approach in my work, and I consider it an honour to work with all people, regardless of age, culture, race, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexuality. A top priority in my practice is a non-judgmental, client-centred approach, and by offering a caring, supportive environment, my hope is to help others realise their potential for happiness.

Practice description

I hold a master’s degree from Barry University in Miami and am experienced in working with children (five years and above using play therapy), adolescents, adults, families and couples. I treat areas including depression, anxiety/panic attacks, trauma, bereavement, attachment issues, family separation, bullying, school refusal, addictions, personality disorders, identity issues and poor self-esteem. Please email me as I am happy to arrange a phone call to speak about your needs and answer any questions you may have. I am a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about helping others, and I look forward to hearing from you. I am currently working remotely via Zoom, Skype, Teams, etc.

My first session

In our first session, I will endeavour to get to know you in a comfortable, non-invasive way by asking questions and allowing you to "tell your story." I am also very interested in knowing what you hope to achieve from our time together. In the case of young children, I usually request that a parent is present at the first session, and then from time to time during treatment to provide additional insight and progress reports.
