I am an integrative psychotherapist, drawing from several different therapy approaches. For the most part, I work from an interpersonal and existential frame of reference.
I believe that the right therapeutic relationship can offer safety, understanding, insightful perspective, and compassionate care, guiding you towards healing. My approach is multi-faceted and holistic, attending to your individual experience of the world. It is always tailored to you.
About me and my therapy practice
Your journey and how I may help
Some experiences may be overwhelming and lonely to try to make sense of alone. They affect not only our feelings, but how we physically experience the world and relate to others. We may not be aware of what we need to move forward.
I aim to be your dedicated companion as we explore what’s underneath the anxiety, low moods, panic attacks, depression, or grief, and how it impacts your experience of the present, and view of the future. As we gently attend to this process, we can begin to uncover what may be creating obstacles or stuckness in your life.
I believe that we all desire to be truly seen and understood, and experiencing this within the safety of a trusted therapeutic relationship has the potential for meaningful change. As we attend to our emotions, thoughts, and body, our difficulties of living can shift, we can grow from where we are, and open to new possibilities.

Training and Experience
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, graduating with distinction. I then trained in integrative psychotherapy at Regent's University London, which allows me to draw from several different therapy approaches in response to client needs. My work is rooted in the existential frame of reference, considering questions of meaning in the unique context of your experience in the world — your past and recent experiences, and future aspirations. I also work relationally, considering the therapeutic relationship as a vital means of connecting with your holistic experience.
Having lived in Canada, Japan, and now the UK, I am particularly interested in notions of identity and sensitive to the diverse contexts and relationships that shape who we are. This multicultural experience enriches my therapeutic practice, allowing me to connect deeply with clients from various backgrounds.
My professional experience includes working closely with international executives adapting to the challenges and changes in roles and living environments, and I recognise the demands and impact a corporate life may have on personal well-being.
I am available for both in-person and online sessions, and I offer both long-term in-depth work, as well as short-term specifically focused sessions.
I welcome you to contact me via email at anna.miko.therapy@gmail.com
