About me and my therapy practice

I am fully qualified to work face to face and Online. If you would like to work online at this time the options available are via webcam, voice, Instant Messaging or Email. All platforms are secure and confidential. Please contact me for further information or view my website.

I am an experienced BACP senior accredited counsellor/psychotherapist working from a quiet location in Coventry. I am also a Coach and EMDR practitioner. I work with adults in areas which include: Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, disability, illness and life limiting conditions, Low self-Esteem, Low self-confidence, Personal Development, Postnatal Depression, Relationship issues, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma and Work related issues. I work with individuals.

I am dedicated to working therapeutically in a way that is right for you. I am a person-centered therapist and integrate CBT Methods, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Coaching into my work where appropriate. I am empathic and non-judgemental and with my approach you will feel supported and respected.

I  offer EMDR (Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprosessing) to help individuals who have experienced Trauma and PTSD and are suffering as a result. EMDR does not require you to discuss your trauma in detail and bilateral stimulation is only one part of the process. EMDR is a comprehensive therapeutic approach with principles, protocols and procedures with the goal of reducing distress in the shortest period of time.

My skills as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist transfer well into my coaching work, which is concerned with helping you to achieve change, including recognising potential, promoting growth, improving efficiency and productivity and overcoming self-limiting behaviour patterns. Working collaboratively, you will feel accepted and valued and able to make the decisions that will enhance your well-being.

My first session

Prior to your first session I will send you details of my location where you will have onsite parking available. If you are working online we will complete all the necessary forms online via email.

Prior to the first session I would send you an Agreement/Assessment for completion and signing in order to protect confidentiality and comply with GDPR. At the first appointment we would discuss what you would like to achieve from therapy and explore your options. Sessions would be dedicated to helping you manage your difficulties and find appropriate ways to move forward and reach your desired outcomes. We would meet each week or on a schedule which would enable you to get the most benefit from your sessions. Brief or long-term work can be offered depending on the nature of your problems. You might find that just a few sessions are enough to help you. It is your choice how many sessions you decide to have.

Payment can be made before or after the sessions and you will never be asked to commit to blocks of sessions.

If you are having EMDR the protocols and procedures involved in this type of therapy means there will be a preparation phase to be completed before any processing or eye movement is undertaken. This would be fully explained and discussed at the first session.

If you choose to have online sessions, the process is similar, the agreement and assessment will be carried out online via secure email and discussed at the first appointment. Payment for online work is requested prior to the session.
