About me and my therapy practice

My name is Julie (she/her/hers) and I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and trainee psychotherapist. I run a private practice in Hampton, Twickenham.

I offer face-to-face sessions with clients from Kingston-upon-Thames, Wimbledon, Epsom, and the wider Surrey and Greater London area, as well as online sessions.

I am warm, empathetic and open; I offer a non-judgemental, supportive, confidential space for you to bring any needs or concerns, no matter how small. You may perhaps be feeling stuck, numb, empty; maybe stressed, confused, down, unable to cope or generally not like yourself. You may not be sure about why you are coming to see me, but just know that things are not okay in your life. You may have spiritual or existential questions you want to engage with. Whatever painful feelings or experiences you are bringing, I will support you to explore what is causing your difficulties. Therapy can help to create movement and shifts that did not previously feel present or possible.

I offer individual counselling. Here are some of the issues clients may bring to me: difficulties fitting in/functioning as an ADHD /autistic person, depression, anxiety, anger, abuse, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, marital and pre-marital relationship concerns, domestic violence, family conflicts, panic attacks, low moods, feelings of loneliness and low self-esteem, bereavement, grief; as well as those going through major life changes, such as pregnancy, birth, and menopause.

I work within a Gestalt approach to psychotherapy. Gestalt works in a relational and integrated way, paying careful attention to the whole of your experience, including your emotions, thoughts and physical sensations that emerge in the present moment.

On occasions I may suggest creative approaches (pastels, stones, drawing) as a way of exploring difficulties if it seems it may help and if you are happy to try a new approach.

I am a native French speaker and offer therapy in both French and English.

Practice description

I offer both remote and in-person sessions. Remote sessions are delivered via Google Meet or telephone calls.

My practice is located in Hampton and has available onsite parking. The address is:

Queen Anne House

15 Thames Street

Hampton TW12 2EW

I always aim to respond to any enquiry within 24 hours. All communication between us is strictly confidential.

My first session

I offer all prospective clients a free 20-minute phone conversation. We can use that time to talk about what is bringing you to counselling, talk about  practicalities and get a sense of each other.

If we agree to proceed, I will send you ahead of the first counselling session a client information sheet and my privacy policy. In our initial session, we will be able to get a sense of each other and whether we're the right fit.

While I am usually happy for you to lead and tell me as much or as little as you feel ready to, there will be some questions that I will ask in the first session that relate to risk and safety and a little bit about your current circumstances.

My fee is £65 per session. You are primarily paying for my work, not the format the sessions take place in, so I charge the same for remote and in-person sessions.
