About me and my therapy practice
Life brings many challenges, and we might, understandably, seek support in navigating them at times. However, having the courage to discuss our issues and challenges can be incredibly difficult.
Often, we can suppress our feelings of unhappiness, but deep down, we can feel the pain from our past or the anguish from our current problems. Even if we do have someone to talk to, we can feel unable to share the truth for fear of hurting others or being judged by them if they were to know how we really feel.
I provide a confidential, therapeutic space to help you understand whatever difficulties or problems you might be experiencing in life. As someone independent and outside of your day-to-day life, I work with you to explore your issues and help you find new ways of looking at your situation. This allows you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, helping to make new, meaningful choices or find new ways of coping and responding to your current difficulties.
When we understand a little about how our minds work and have some guideposts on how to manage our emotions healthily, we not only build resilience but can thrive and, over time, find a sense of peace and growth.
Finding yourself reading this suggests you have taken the first step along the path to a better tomorrow, so please get in touch to arrange an initial discussion.
Practice description
I work as an integrative therapist, which means I draw upon different techniques to create a therapeutic roadmap that aligns with your specific needs. However, at the heart of my practice, is a belief in the importance of the counsellor-client relationship, underpinned by person-centred principles.
I am fully insured; all of my work is clinically monitored, and I hold a DBS certificate.
My first session
It is often helpful to start with an informal, no-obligation brief telephone call to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling and whether it could be helpful for you. It is also an opportunity to have a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you and if I think I can help with the particular issues you bring.
After our brief telephone discussion, you can decide if you want to book your first counselling session together. If you wish to book ongoing sessions, these would be dedicated to helping you explore your issues further at your own pace and discover how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure telephone and email services. If it is not appropriate, for any reason for me to leave a message, please advise of this and provide specific times when I can contact you safely.
