About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor with over 22 years experience of helping people recover from anxiety, stress, depression and unhappiness. I tailor my approach to meet your needs. Research shows that the most important thing for counselling to be helpful is a good rapport and partnership between counsellor and client. I bring warmth, compassion, humour, calmness and sensitivity to my work as well as skills built through training and experience during my long career.
You want to work things out and feel better as fast as possible. I want to help you. Together we can understand your situation, build on your strengths and increase your capacity and confidence to make changes in how you face the world.
As well as being a highly trained counsellor I am also a qualified and registered teacher of mindfulness which I find often helps me and my clients (if they are interested) to retrain and reshape the brain and mind to be happier, wiser, kinder and calmer.
I work from a dedicated and private counselling space at home. I am currently using the online platform Zoom to conduct counselling sessions and mindfulness groups and courses.
My first session
The first session is very important. Together we explore you needs to see if we can work well together and if I am able to help. It will last 50 minutes and is chargeable at the same rate as all subsequent sessions.
