About me and my therapy practice
I can offer you long-and short-term therapy sessions (depending on your needs) face to face or via Zoom/Skype.
I have experience in a range of difficulties and mental health issues such as abuse, anxiety, autism*, bereavement, depression, family- and relationship difficulties, feeling different, feeling sad, identity crises, isolation, loneliness, low self-esteem, masking, and self-harm.
*) Note: I do not view autism to be a mental health issue, but rather a cognitive difference. However, often people on the autism spectrum suffer from mental health issues.
If you feel you have reached a point in your life where you need help with the difficulties that have come your way, I can help you by providing a non-judgemental safe space to explore these difficulties and to enable you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your life. This can provide a means to overcoming challenges or finding ways to live with them, so that you can start to enjoy your life (again).
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist I am interested in building an open and honest relationship with you, exploring which unhelpful patterns of relating, thinking, and behaving might block you from living the life you want to live.
My first session
The first session is more of an explorative session in which I can answer any questions you may have and we can get to know each other a little bit. It is also a space for both of us to consider whether I am the right therapist for you.
This first session can be either a face to face or an online appointment.
