About me and my therapy practice
Hello. My name is Paula and I help people to feel at their best through counselling and coaching. I offer a personal approach either face to face or online. I am based in The City near New Change.
Having worked in education for over 30 years and as a senior leader for the past 10, I know that personal problems, as well as doubts and anxieties, can sometimes hold us back and interfere with us being our best selves.
Whether it is anxiety, loss, imposter syndrome or having the confidence to go for promotion, I would like to work with you, helping you develop a different approach or way of thinking.
I am person-centered and work in an integrative way which means that I use a range of different approaches and techniques tailored to my clients’ needs.
I believe that the most important part of the therapy is the relationship between the client and therapist. This is grounded in compassion, empathy, genuineness, and authenticity. Consequently, I offer a free initial consultation so my clients can know whether this will feel right for them.
We take each session at a pace you are comfortable with and in a gentle manner. There are no complicated forms, no list of questions, just you and me, responding to what you bring.
Typically the sessions are 50 mins, once a week and can take place in my therapy room in the City or online over Zoom.
I'm registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and my full professional details are public on LinkedIn.
My first session
Before the first session, we will talk over the phone when I can assess your needs and learn a little about why you are coming for therapy.
The first session is a chance for us to dig a bit deeper and begin to explore the issue that has brought you to therapy.
I offer a free initial consultation so my clients can know whether this will feel right for them.
