About me and my therapy practice

I help individuals and couples who are struggling right now.

I aim to see you within 5-10 days, you will hear from me within 24hrs.

Being told to wait on a waiting list is not an option, you need help now.

This is how I work, I keep it that simple.

Practice description

I want to work where you feel wanted, and you know I have heard your voice. I truly understand by making contact with me "your life is not great and you are seeking help." You are tired from struggling and feeling alone with your thoughts 24/7.

I will listen and together we will find a way that's better than what you have right now. It may not the the fairy tale ending but it will be manageable and realistic for you to work alone between our sessions.

My first session

After making contact with me, we will arrange our first session and I will ask you some questions and take notes. This background information will help me understand your reactions, why feel or behave in a certain way, some of which may have been learnt and passed down from generation to generation.

We will discuss how to get the best from each other and how to manage conversations when you start to feel awkward or want to shut down. This is our working contract what we feel comfortable with and how we can go at a pace where it works for you in session and out of session. We will talk about confidentiality and my legal requirements are in regards to, what gets said or stored in session.

After our first session we will have a debrief and discuss if I am the right therapist for you. If you felt the connection worked for you and you want to move forward and book a second session.

You will always have options with me, it is a bespoke service for you.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Debbie and I am a fully trained counselling practitioner.

I can help you with and it is not limited to, domestic abuse (male or female) stress and struggles of being a carer, depression & anxiety, bereavement from illness or from a suicide,  OCD,  couple's therapy, work related stress, or panic disorders.

If it is affecting you, then you need to talk to someone.

The umbrella of Mental Health can and will dismantle you from within. Bereavement may leave you feeling happy, isolated, numb, alone, frightened, or scared. Especially if the bereavement relates to a child or it's sudden and unexpected. Even a complicated death can leave a scar and confusion.

I am passionate about building a therapeutic relationship, one which allows you full autonomy. Let me start the process and our end goal is too accept yourself, love yourself and forgive yourself. You are worth it and you owe it to yourself to be at peace, and live your life how you want to live it.

There may be times in session when you feel overwhelmed or even slightly challenged but stay with the process. When you have reached the finishing line, your final self-reflection of yourself will be  worth its weight in gold. Only You can judge yourself and see how much you have grown as a person and know how far you have moved forward with your life.

Let me have one hour out of your week, I am here for you and truthfully - that's all you really need. One hour of talking about you.

Practice description

I work Person-Centred, which in laymen's term means - I work along the side of you. We are equal in this working relationship. I am directed by you and your emotions. Each session is organic, it is lead by what you bring into our session.

I don't know you, only you know yourself and your emotions. I am trained how to listen and then together we will piece together what are you struggling with or what's making you feel angry, confused, or sad. It doesn't always have to be catastrophic to be a problem. How many times have you fallen over a small stone and moved around the boulder?

I want the truth from your eyes. This is your picture and how you are experiencing life.

My first session

Our first point of contact would have been made from you reading about myself from a listing on a directory or from a self referral form from my website, www.twostalking.co.uk.

After talking to me on the phone or from messaging we will arrange our first counselling session. We will talk about " the client contract"  and my legal requirements surrounding confidentiality and how I store any notes which I may take with your permission during our session. This may also include any homework exercises which might form part of your therapy within our agreement. We will also discuss the cancellation policy.

I will ask you open questions to find out about your past and how your past has made the person who I now have the pleasure in meeting and working with. I will work each session with what you bring into each session, it will never be directed by me. I will ask you questions and I will maintain the control to hold you and keep you safe within the session but the content is all yours - this is your session, you pay for this service.
