About me and my therapy practice
My practice is based in Liverpool city centre on Water Street. I am a person-centred counsellor, that refers to the philosophy that underpins the way I work, I also work as an adventure therapist often taking the therapy outdoors. I can also offer you online counselling.
I have been in private practice working across all age groups for over 6 years and have experience working with people at many different stages of their lives. With over 20 years experience, training and qualifications in working with children and young adults ages, I am familiar with the challenges and difficulties that these age groups may have.
People come to therapy for many different reasons and you don’t have to be in a crisis. Therapy can involve talking about emotions, difficult events and/or relationships, it can also be about behaviour change or dealing with negative thoughts.
When describing the way I work, I often say, it is like two people going for a walk, along the walk I may notice things and you may notice things and together we bring these observations into awareness, to explore and process them. Yes counselling can be challenging, only with that challenge, from my experience it can also bring great rewards.
You may wonder if counselling will help, counselling can help widen your awareness and you can start to feel better.
Practice description
My practice is located on Water Street, Liverpool, overlooking the river and has great views. I work hard to create and maintain a space for you that assists your therapeutic journey.
I also work online, online counselling although a different experience I have found it to be just as powerful and helpful, this is supported by client feedback, many who I have worked with me both in person and online.
When working outdoors we will discuss and plan the location and nature of the therapy to establish suitability and access requirements.
My first session
In the first session we will spend some time looking at what counselling is and how I work, we will discuss the boundaries, confidentiality and how I store your data. We will look at what you hope to gain from counselling and begin our working relationship from there.
