About me and my therapy practice
Please go to my website for more information on my practice and myself and my specialties. I have also added some useful tips there on coping with life in a crisis. Life is particularly challenging in current times. I work with clients who have experienced trauma and am experienced in dealing with clients who have problems with overwhelming anxiety and persistent low mood and negative thinking, especially about themselves or their coping skills. I am experienced with how to achieve initial stabilisation of troubling symptoms before progressing to the deeper issues that clients struggle with. The middle part of therapy is about looking more closely at the issues you feel you have and we work to understand how we are achieving the goals you have for therapy. The final part of the work involves bringing all the new understanding and awareness together to enable you to go forward with greater understanding of yourself, awareness of your increased emotional resilience and a renewed capacity for self compassion and joy in life.
I run a small independent private practice and work from my home. I offer telephone counselling and online counselling.
My first session
In our first session together you will have time to talk about things that are troubling you and to set out what you want to achieve through counselling. This is a safe and confidential space for you to say everything that has been on your mind.
I will be there to listen and to reflect on what you are saying to try to understand what your issues might be.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental presence.
In this session we will also go through the contract which includes a section for counselling by telephone/online and my privacy statement.
After this first session, if you feel I am a good fit for what you need we will book in a number of sessions.
