About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging at times and I offer a calm, safe space where you can begin to gain clarity about the things that are troubling you, whether these things are happening now or have happened in the past. All of us have been through tough times when few things seem to make sense or we feel a bit lost. you may have been through a defined trauma, you may know exactly what you need help with or maybe you can't put your finger on what is troubling you. occasionally we all need that extra bit of help and deciding to reach for it is a good first step. If this is your first or fifth decision to seek counselling then please check my website which contains more information to help you make a decision.
I have worked for Cruse Bereavement and with New Pathways in Cardiff, counselling survivors of historic child sexual abuse and more recent sexual assault survivors. I continue to train and attend continuing professional development courses.
I work with individual adults in face-to-face, short or long term counselling. I am primarily a person-centred therapist which means that I believe and work with the idea that people have an innate ability to heal themselves and that my responsibility is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space where you can get to know yourself better, perhaps relate to others better or differently, to find good balance in your life or to find your own 'story'.
I have also been trained as an existential counsellor and this means I can help you come to terms with the dilemmas of living and finding meaning and direction in your life.
