About me and my therapy practice

Life can be hard and it can be difficult. Sometimes we are able to gracefully glide through life like a swan through water. At other times we feel like we are paddling furiously yet we are getting nowhere fast. Sometimes we can barely manage to stay afloat and feel like we are drowning.

I wonder what it would be like for you to have someone draw alongside you right now. For you to experience that person sitting with you in life's difficulties. Not judging you or telling you what to do but compassionately being with you.

I'd like to offer you a safe space in which you can be valued, understood and truly heard. A therapeutic relationship, which is both warm and welcoming. I will listen attentively to you as you share and explore the difficulties that have brought you to counselling.

Practice description

I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor who will support you in a non-directive manner. During our sessions we discuss the issues that you bring to therapy and as we sit together, I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists I adhere to their ethical framework. I uphold the values, principles and moral qualities laid out in the framework and this underpins my commitment to my clients and to good practice.

Below is a quote from Carl Rogers, a founder of the Person Centred Approach.

"When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self worth, uncertain as to identity - then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship offered by an empathic person ....provides illumination and healing."

As an empathic person, I would like to be the sensitive companion that helps you to find your way through to calmer waters.
