Availability

Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I offer both long term and short term counselling. I do not ask clients to commit to any number of sessions and can work either weekly or once every two weeks as I know in this current climate committing to a weekly amount can be challenging.

I currently am taking new clients (various day and times available please contact me for availability). I work with both adults and children from 8+.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor. I like to work with a person-centred foundation however I will draw on other methods of counselling to help find a style that best suits you and your needs. I enjoy working creatively and understand that sometimes we don't have the words to describe what is happening or us or how we feel.

I work with both children (8 upwards) and adults and I have been working as a secondary school counsellor for a few years.

I also have experience of working with Tourette's and the journey for diagnosis.

I started my counselling journey after my eldest son was in intensive care. I found there was little support available from people who understood or had experienced this themselves. I have a variety of knowledge including pain, grief, depression, anxiety and many more and have done extra training in suicide and self harm.

I have accessed counselling at various stages of my life from childhood to adulthood and feel it is important to find someone that you feel comfortable and who listens.

Practice description

I work with a variety of counselling methods however I aim to provide a warm, friendly, non judgemental space for you to be yourself.

I know how hard it can be to take that first step on your counselling journey and think it is important to find a counsellor that works for you and that you feel is right for you.

Counselling is a very personal journey and it is important to feel connected to the person sharing that journey with you.

My first session

I try to offer a kind, caring, non-judgemental and confidential space that truly hears you.

I will send contracts out electronically prior to the first session to give you time to look through them and ask questions during our first session. This also allows us to talk in our first session and get to know one other.

I will ask a few questions during the first session for me to get a better understanding of where you are and how I can help you. I use this session to look at expectations and possibly goals for our counselling journey.

My sessions after this will be very client led and focused on what you choose to bring to our sessions. I may at times invite you to work creatively but this will always be your choice.
