About me and my therapy practice

It's difficult to chose a therapist - looking at my photo you may be asking yourself: could I talk to this person; could I trust them with my thoughts and feelings; do they look unshockable; compassionate; caring? Will they listen with understanding and are they the right therapist for me? I offer a free 20 minute online meeting where you can try it out by having an informal chat to see if therapy sessions with me would feel like the right fit.

I have worked with and supported adults, children and young people for over 25 years. As a registered social worker and therapist I have worked in a range of settings including several years working for a well known national children's charity.

I offer therapy Online, In Person and Walking & Talking Therapy  Outdoors in the Woodbridge area of Suffolk.

Why Walking & Talking Therapy?....

The benefits of being outdoors in nature are now well recognised.  From increased wellbeing, lowered anxiety, depression and stress levels, to reduced anger, increased confidence and self worth.  It has also been shown to be effective for loss and bereavement and when going through crisis or transitions.

Practice description

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist I draw on a range of counselling approaches.

Believing that people are unique individuals and experts in their own lives, I adapt my way of working to suit each person.

I work with compassion and understanding, supporting you to recognise existing strengths and abilities, working towards achieving your goals and desired outcomes, whatever they may be.  

My first session

The online chat/consultation is free and usually takes around 20 minutes. This is an opportunity to ask questions, establish availability, and if you wish, to book an initial session.

The initial session lasts for an hour and is an opportunity to get to know you. In advance of the session I will ask you to complete some further information on a form.  We can discuss the areas and issues you would like to work on and the ways in which I may be able to work with and support you.  At the end of the initial session, if you would like to go ahead, we can agree on how you would like to continue our work.
