About me and my therapy practice
I work online, face to face and outdoors.
If you're struggling or feeling stuck in your life, I can help. Maybe you feel like something is missing, you feel sad or angry for no reason, or you're struggling with life changes.
Outwardly you might look fine, but inside you are depressed, anxious, even despairing. You CAN make changes, or live better with those things you can't change. Talking with a trained counsellor can be such a big relief.
I help you work through your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour in a non-judgemental way. We'll work towards understanding where these come from so we can change how you deal with them. Being listened to and understood can go a long way to help you deal with what's happening in your life.
Often people think their worries are too silly to talk about, or that others people's problems are much bigger than theirs. This just isn't true. You'd be amazed how many times people come to me with a 'small' problem that has overshadowed their lives for years. Sometimes people feel they can't change anything by just talking about their problem. This also isn't true. I won't offer advice. I won't tell you what to do. But I will walk with you on your journey and help you figure things out for yourself.
Working with me:
I'm an experienced, fully qualified registered and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist.
I can offer you counselling as a short term service for a few weeks, or psychotherapy as a longer term commitment, up to 2 years or longer, depending upon your needs. We meet for an initial session or two so you can decide if this is for you. I can also offer Single Session Therapy (SST).
I'm a brilliant listener.
I work on the border of Leicestershire/Northamptonshire.
I work in private practice on a Thursday or Friday. I can offer online therapy currently, and will be offering ecotherapy, or walk and talk therapy, in the future when I am my clients feel safer about meeting.
My first session
The first session, or assessment session as it's sometimes called, is to find out about you and what you would like help with. You can ask questions and I will ask you about your background and history. In this session we will decide whether to work together or not and decide how long this might look like.
There is no obligation to continue with any more sessions if you feel that this is not for you.
