About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Julia, I am an integrative counsellor / therapist working with children, young people and adults in schools, non-profit organisations, community services (in partnership with NHS Trusts) and the private sector.
There might be many reasons why people seek support to improve their emotional / mental health; feeling lost, bereavement, anxiety, depression, past traumas, to name a few. The process of counselling / therapy with its safe and contained environment offers a path where those difficulties can be explored, creating meaningful long-lasting life changes. My integrative approach, underpinned by psychodynamic, humanistic, attachment and systemic theories, is employed through talking, creative and play therapy in a warm, caring and approachable way that can be adapted to each client’s needs.
Above all, I believe that compassion, willingness to be present and genuineness are the essential ingredients of a good therapeutic relationship, which facilitate the conditions where psychological shift can occur.
Counselling takes place in a comfortable and informal setting, just 12 minute’s walk from Clapham South or 15 minutes from Balham. Parking is free except for 10:00 - 12:00 on weekdays.
The room is equipped for creative and play therapy.
