About me and my therapy practice

Are you finding it hard to be happy and positive about your life?

Do you feel that personal and emotional challenges are overwhelming you and holding you back from achieving your goals and happiness?

Life presents us with so many challenges that affect our mental health and I understand how this can lead to suffering from depression, anxiety or low self-esteem. I have been there myself and I know how hard it can be to take those initial steps in seeking help and revealing your feelings for the first time to a therapist. But as I found, counselling can be transformative and helps you live and feel better about yourself, and about your world. This new level of understanding brings a sense of peace and freedom so you can heal and achieve things with your life.

I am a fully qualified BACP counsellor and I have experience working with the NHS and private clients, helping them overcome issues with anxiety, depression, stress and anger management, low self-esteem, loneliness, relationships and bereavement.

I specialise in person-centred counselling which means your needs, what you wish to talk about and how long you take to move through the process is determined by you.

I can help you accept yourself, both the light and shadow, the “good” and the “bad” aspects, so that you can move forward with your life in a more empowered way.

There is no judgement, only encouragement.

I offer a safe space for you to explore the key events and people in your life and how they influence how you feel, how you react to life events and other people. My face-to-face practice is available in Manchester and Wigan, so I am easily reached from anywhere in Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

My aim is to help you move forward with your life, to learn self-acceptance and to lead a happier and more positive life in the future.

Practice description

I specialise in person-centred talking therapy.

This involves discussing such things as important people in your life, key life events and how you feel about them, as well as how you respond to your environment and the people around you.

I believe that opening up your world is the first step to understanding it.

Consequently, the therapy process is driven by you and what you want to talk about. Your comfort and wellbeing are of the utmost importance, so you set the pace. No one person is the same and whether you are struggling with depression, unhealthy relationships or finding it hard to be happy with yourself and your life, everybody’s progress looks and feels different.

Therefore, how many counselling sessions you undertake and how long you come for is entirely up to you.

My goal is to promote the healing process and help you become the best version of yourself that you want to be.

My offices provide a safe, calm and clean space for you to talk with me and they are easily accessible from anywhere in Central Manchester, Greater Manchester or West Lancashire.

You can see me at my clinics in Manchester or Wigan during my listed offices hours (see above) but I will consider other times on an individual basis if needed – Please contact me to discuss alternative arrangements.

I work with all adults from all backgrounds over the age of 18.

I also offer remote sessions via phone, Zoom or FaceTime. You choose which is the best form of therapy for you.

My first session

I offer an initial 30-minute consultation free of charge.

There is no pressure to commit and I won’t judge the things you tell me.

This free consultation will give you an idea of how we would work together and, ultimately, will help you decide if you are ready to take your therapy and the healing process further with me.

Please note, if you can’t attend either my Manchester or Wigan clinics in person, your consultation can be done via phone or online to ensure that you are comfortable and feel relaxed with the counselling process.
