About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor and an accredited and registered member of the BACP. My training has been centred on the person centred approach. My experience and professional development has led me to adopt a pluralistic take on my practice that introduces elements from therapeutic theories such as Existential Psychotherapies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
In my practice I work with people that experience symptoms of distress, low mood and anxiety in a structured, time limited or open ended time frame. My aim is to always take into account my client's needs, wishes, pace and desired focus in order to maintain a meaningful and trusting relationship. In our work my clients will have the opportunity to be in a non-judgemental space with me where they will be able to explore their feelings, situations and experiences in confidence in order to reach a positive resolution.
I have delivered counselling to clients in the NHS and in the community and higher education sector and, hence, I have worked with people from a vast range of backgrounds bringing a variety of issues. I welcome working with clients from any background including migrants settling into the UK from Europe or overseas.
