About me and my therapy practice

I aim to offer a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space for us to work through whatever is troubling you together.

Life can be hard at times. It could be that you're feeling low, anxious or stressed, you're struggling with your relationship with yourself or others or you're experiencing difficulties adjusting to changes in your life such as loss or illness.

Whatever your issue, I will support you to connect with and express your feelings and thoughts with a view of increasing your self-awareness and self-compassion.

We'll consider your past life events and relationships and how these might be influencing you in the present, drawing on any themes that may arise. This could help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, improve your relationships and gain a greater sense of control over your life, making life more fulfilling in general.

I work relationally and see the reparative experience as being central to our work. We will work collaboratively and I will facilitate you in making your own decisions and reaching your own conclusions.

I'll use a variety of techniques from various approaches to help you draw on your inner resources, leaving you with a sense of empowerment.

Practice description

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis over the phone or video.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are held at the same time and on the same day weekly or fortnightly.

We can agree on a short-term arrangement (from six sessions) or an open-ended arrangement (no specified end date) with regular reviews to ensure you are getting the most out of your sessions.

My first session

I understand that it can be daunting starting therapy so it's important that you feel comfortable with your Counsellor.

The first session would be an opportunity for us to get to know one another and see if we feel we could work together. We'd discuss what's brought you to therapy, what you'd like to achieve from our work and how we can best support you.

There would be no commitment to continue with sessions following this.
