I am currently only taking enquiries for 18 - 24yr olds, available to attend therapy during school hours. After-school slots are full at present.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist. I offer 1:1 sessions for children and adolescents struggling to cope with painful developmental hurdles, often in the wake of traumatic events.
Since 2012, I have been providing therapy for pupils in London primary and secondary schools, as well as specialist schools for teenagers with social and emotional mental health needs. I also run a private therapy practice for pre- adolescents, adolescents and young adults (10 - 24yrs).
My approach is primarily psychodynamic. This means allowing the client to bring whatever content they wish to share, whilst I try to respond to the underlying anxieties and conflicts being expressed. I integrate psychodynamic, person-centred, attachment and metalization theory to inform the work, enabling connections to be made with the client's past and shedding light on their current state of mind.
Therapy can provide a safe and confidential space within which a young person may explore and come to understand their inner world. Consistent weekly sessions create a sense of continuity; of being held; of having parameters within which to build trust and communicate.
