About me and my therapy practice

What to expect - Talking therapy is a way of clarifying your problems in a safe relationship to help you make sense of them and to see them in the context of your life and everything that has happened to you so far. It is no surprise that at times it can be a troubling event, a new challenge, or some discomfort in your life that compels you to take the time to discover your inner strengths, your own worth, and what it will take to overcome these challenges. When you can better understand yourself, you can move forward with choices that give you confidence in your ability to cope with day to day stresses and with any decisions that you want or need to make.

About me

I have worked in the NHS for many years, in private practice and with young people who have grown up in difficult circumstances. I have experience with a wide range of life and relationship problems and have counselled countless people from diverse backgrounds and of different ethnicity and faiths. I completed my training as a counselling psychotherapist through Middlesex University London in 2013. Since then, I have pursued postgraduate courses to keep my skills fresh and up-to-date and to train as a couple counsellor. My aim is for you to feel heard, comfortable and free to explore your thoughts and feelings about yourself, others and your personal experience. I am able to share confidential client testimonials on request.

Please feel free to call, text or message me and we can arrange an initial appointment to talk about how and when we can work together. If you are unsure about talking therapy and whether it would be helpful for you, I am happy to provide a free pre-arranged 20 minutes phone or video consultation to help you decide.

Couple counselling

I help couples as well as individuals. You are welcome whether heterosexual or LGBT+. In couple counselling we will get to the heart of how you communicate.

Practice description

I have a dedicated consulting room on the ground floor adapted for COVID-19 standards. Please do ask me about this to ensure it meets your needs. There is secure parking.

I hold full indemnity and liability insurance and adhere to current data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU/2016/679) (the GDPR).  I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in keeping with GDPR and have rolling Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance to work with adults and children updated yearly.

Your first phone call is FREE and will last approximately 20 minutes.  This will give you a chance to get to know me and to ask any questions you may have before going ahead with a booking.
