About me and my therapy practice
Sue Hessel has worked with individuals and couples for nearly forty years. She qualified in 1980, initially as a social worker, and has worked as a counsellor since 1990.
Sue has a wealth of experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship and other emotional difficulties. Alongside her current private practice she worked at Highgate Counselling Centre for many years, both as a counsellor for individuals, in the initial consultation team and as part of its couple and families team. She is currently Course Director of its Certificate in Counselling Skills course, and runs seminars on Attachment, Separation, Loss and Bereavement for its diploma course.
For the past seven years Sue has jointly led a weekly group for carers who have a family member with special needs, at a local church.
In her private practice Sue works from a pleasant consulting room in Crouch End. Her approach is warm, welcoming and non-judgmental. She works sensitively and gently at the pace set by the client.
