About me and my therapy practice
Whether you are coming to counselling and coaching for the first time or you have been before, I offer a safe and supportive space where we can explore some of the issues you are presently dealing with and make a plan for moving forward.
Everyone arrives at therapy with their own individual story and I believe that there can be no one-size-fits-all approach. As an ‘integrative’ counsellor and coach, I make use of different techniques and approaches from within both counselling and coaching to create an approach that offers the best fit for you.
In working together, we will have the opportunity to explore and understand the relationship you have with yourself, identify and address negative thought and behavioural patterns, and set and begin working towards goals and aspirations for what you want to achieve.
My aim is to help people create rewarding and fulfilling lives in which they feel able to reach their goals and be their true selves. I believe that we are all trying to build better lives for ourselves, but due to the lasting impact of past experiences, the unhelpful habits we develop over time, and the fear, self-judgement and self-criticism that we often carry round with ourselves, we can end up feeling stuck and finding it difficult to move forward.
I believe that personal growth is possible for everyone and as an ‘integrative’ counsellor and coach, I make use of different techniques and approaches from within both counselling and coaching to create an approach that offers the best fit for you.
Therapies I use include: compassion-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
My first session
In our first session, we will have the opportunity to introduce ourselves, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, and see if we are a good fit. It will also provide an opportunity for you to ask me any questions that you might have.
I recognise that meeting a therapist for the first time can sometimes be a little nerve-wracking and I will do all I can to help you to feel at ease in this experience. There is no obligation to continue with therapy following this initial session.
