About me and my therapy practice

My name is Alex and I am a fully qualified, BACP-registered, counsellor with a proven track record of helping people work through all kinds of problems. I offer affordable online counselling sessions. You can scroll to the bottom of my profile if you wish to read what previous clients had to say about my services.

I think that part of the problem we all share is that we grew up in a society that didn't really understand human emotions. Thus, we quickly learned that emotions are a problem and that the only proper way of dealing with them is to shut them off, brush them under the carpet and put on a brave face.

Over time, the load of repressed, unacknowledged, emotions increases, not unlike a pressure cooker. At some point, if we don't learn to have a healthy relationship with our emotions, the pressure becomes too much for the lid to hold... and boom!... anxiety, depression, uncontrollable anger, shouting, panic, blaming, violence, addiction, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, etc... all of which are signs that the emotional pressure is reaching maximum capacity.

What's the alternative? To gather up the courage and face the emotional pain that we're carrying before it explodes... The trick here is in learning to share the thoughts and feelings that may have previously felt too difficult to acknowledge.

I can offer you the opportunity to do this in a supportive, professional and confidential environment.

P.S. If you'd like to listen to my podcast, you can find the link to Spotify on my website.
