About me and my therapy practice

I would like to offer you a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to unpack what is going on for you and to help you heal and grow. This can happen in person or online.  There are certain times in life when we just need the space to reflect and deal with complexities that everyone can experience.  I am a Pluralistic Counsellor/ Psychotherapist who views every client as an individual, with a unique set of life experiences and goals.  We can work together using a range of different therapies, to ascertain what will best support you when you are going through life's difficult or challenging times, in line with what feels most comfortable or fitting for you.  I aim to be an evidence-based practitioner, using tasks and methods backed by research, although I realise that whatever works for the individual, is the correct approach.  You are the expert in your own life and I would love to work with you to help you meet your therapeutic goals.

 I can help you find the tools for your toolbox to move forward, providing coping skills, an alternative way of viewing your situation, allowing you to live the life you deserve.

With a previous career in Social Care, I newly qualified in 2022 with an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling from Abertay University, Dundee. I have worked in the voluntary sector for three years, accessing Continuous Professional Development  in a range of areas, including different therapeutic approaches and learning about the different needs of clients.

Practice description

I work face to face on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from Slotline House, Largo Road, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8NJ.  I offer online and telephone Counselling on other days. I welcome people from all over the world for remote sessions, having lived as an expat in three very different cultures.

We can collaborate to work out what is best for you, in terms of frequency of sessions, which I am flexible about, weekly, fortnightly or whatever fits your schedule and needs best.  I find an individual approach is useful in each session and will be guided by what your needs are.

My first session

I am open to whatever you need, if you require a free ten to twenty minute online, telephone or face to face consultation to see if I may be a good fit for you, I can accommodate that.

Otherwise our first session is about getting to know what has brought you to counselling/ psychotherapy.  We do have a contract that I will take you through in the first session, and you can amend as you wish.  I want you to feel as comfortable as possible as I know first sessions can be very stressful and/ or daunting. Let me know what you need from me and we can work together to help you feel understood, safe and supported to work towards a better future for you.
