About me and my therapy practice
The clients I work with do brilliant things. I am still surprised everyday - despite being a therapist - at not just the little shifts, but so often the huge changes clients frequently make!
I see the difference when people explore where their behaviours come from, look honestly at their relationships and histories, reflect on where they lost their way and why they repeat the same patterns.
We are like joint explorers and detectives in a space that isn't like any other they have in their week. I, like so many others, have been in a place where seeing the wood for the trees feels pretty impossible. So seeing those "aha" moments in clients eyes when they understand more about how they got to where they are and how they can begin to move on is brilliant.
So who do I work with?
Are you a parent who gets triggered more often than they would like?
Do you suspect your attachment style and your childhood is impacting your relationships?
Do you find yourself talking critically to yourself or experiencing shame?
Are you a people pleaser and have challenges setting boundaries or saying no?
Are you beginning to suspect that past trauma is still impacting you today?
Do you feel different, alone or just not right in your own skin?
Do you feel low or anxious and stuck in a rut?
Those are all themes and feelings, amongst others, that I have a particular interest and experience in. They seem to come up in my practice often.
I see face to face clients in my practice in Sunbury on Thames and out to you in Kensington; also offering "walk and talk" in those locations.
Online video, live typed chat, email and telephone counselling available throughout the UK.
There are no minimum or maximum sessions and no need to sign up for a block at a time. Counselling is offered weekly at first and then many clients move to fortnightly, then monthly, take a break or stop.
I offer discounted sessions to foster carers, adopters, carers, parents of children with special needs and social workers.
My first session
I like for our first sessions to give you a proper flavour of what counselling with me would be like and for you to get the most out of the session. To feel heard, to ask anything and share anything you want to - or to take it super slow should you wish and need. Not to do lots of form filling, tests or admin. Human to human from the off.
Most people decide to continue but if for whatever reason, you decide not to, that will entirely up to you and no pressure at all. It is super important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and that you can build a great working relationship as that is so much of the work.
