About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel stuck, anxious or depressed? Is life challenging? I offer a welcoming space for us to explore your life and work together.
I will not be a 'blank canvas' therapist and will meet you with care, compassion, laughter and tears as is appropriate. I will strive to meet you where you are but also to challenge you and move with you as you explore your experiences.
Your needs will always be at the heart of any work we do and we will always go at your pace. From the start we will explore what you can do to reconnect to your self so that you can find your own tools and strength to move forwards.
I have experience of working with people from all walks of life and from different cultural backgrounds. My clients have ranged from young people to the older generation and I also have experience of working with adults experiencing disability, ADHD and Autism.
I currently offer all therapy online.
I work mainly from a person centered perspective where your experience is at the heart of all things. I often include creative techniques such as body work, breath work, drawing and writing as and when appropriate. I am influenced by existential and gestalt practice in my approach.
Meetings are held online for 50 minutes once a week. I ask for a regular commitment to therapy and we will find a regular time to meet however there can be flexibility around session times as and when needed.
I work with individuals 18 and up and work with all genders.
I abide by the BACP's ethical values and I hold a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling from the University of Gloucestershire
My first session
I offer a 15-minute free phone conversation to discuss therapy with me. This is an opportunity to see if we can work together and we can then proceed from there. There is no commitment to starting therapy.
A first full session will involve discussing your full history of your emotional development: family, past events, current difficulties, medication. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions about therapy and how I work.
