Due to the current lockdown, I am temporarily unable to offer face to face counselling but am still working remotely. Telephone and secure online video sessions are both available to support you during this difficult time. Further details can be found on my website.
About me and my therapy practice
Life can be very challenging and sometimes our usual ways of coping are not enough. Talking to a counsellor can help to think about what is going on for you, but taking the first steps can feel daunting, as can choosing the right counsellor to talk to.
I offer a caring and empathetic space to hear, accept and support you with whatever you are struggling with. Together we might look at something you have been holding for a long time, or explore new and unexpected feelings and emotions. People come to counselling for lots of different reasons, so whether you are feeling angry, confused, sad or something else, I offer you a supportive and non-judgemental therapy space to be yourself in.
I am a professionally trained integrative counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling. As a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I abide by their ethical framework. I work with adults and young people over 16 from all backgrounds.
I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, loneliness, loss of identity, men's mental health and relationship problems. I have considerable experience supporting grief and loss and am also an accredited counsellor for baby and infant loss with The Foundation for Infant Loss Training. Alongside talking therapy, I sometimes work creatively which can be a helpful way to access thoughts and feelings that are hard to express.
My therapy room in Farnham is up one flight of stairs, but I may be able to offer some flexibility in Guildford on the ground floor for easier access.
