About me and my therapy practice
Is today the day you need a confidential safe place where you can talk openly and truthfully about what’s really going on for you?
Are you suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, loss, or grief? Perhaps problems concerning the loss of a relationship, managing an addiction, dealing with old or recent traumas?
I talk to individuals who have specific aims in mind but also individuals who have a sense of not knowing but certainly feeling something’s wrong and needs to change.
I can offer you confidential, non-judgemental counseling. It is an opportunity for you to share, discover and if you feel changes are needed together we can work towards a new way of being for you that is more fulfilling and enhances your life.
I specialize in working with people who have cancer and all the issues, diagnosis, treatments, prognosis, and living with Cancer. And patients under Palliative care. and have an understanding of all the difficulties it brings. Family members and friends of those people also need someone to talk to.
Equally, I have the ability to counsel clients with other presenting issues.
If you would like to know more please call me or email me to arrange an informal, no-obligation chat. You can then ask any questions you may have, and we can see if what I can offer is of use to you.
Currently, at this time, I'm only able to offer Online via Zoom and Telephone Counselling. Secure platforms are used. I have both daytime and evening appointments.
I take referrals via Frontline19 offering free counselling for NHS staff. I'm also registered with an Employee Assisted Programme.
Throughout my time as a counsellor, I have felt confident counselling people across all age groups, cultures and religions. I am a passionate advocate for the benefits of talking therapy and have been privileged to work with a variety of individuals.
My counselling model is person-centred and its core values are at the centre of my work. I adjust my practice to meet an individual’s needs. Such adjustments include solution-focused therapy, directive, short-term counselling. Furthermore, being flexible offers my clients a more realistic outcome for their therapy, helping them with their issues, stresses and anxieties.
Most recently, my work has focused on patients who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses in an NHS hospice. I was also a Macmillan counsellor working with patients who have received a cancer diagnosis with an NHS Hospital Trust. During Covid, I've supported front line workers by telephone. In all my roles, I offered support to the patient's families and friends.
I communicate without judgement and I am able to keep the confidentiality required. My background also includes working in the Substance Misuse Counselling Agency and the Young People's Counselling Service, both funded by the local government. I have also worked in the Cruse Bereavement Service, which offers support to people who have been bereaved.
Finally, as an accredited member of the BACP, I am committed to continuing my personal development and self-reflection of my practice through on-going supervision. Both of these give me the opportunity to enhance my counselling practice.
