About me and my therapy practice

Day to day life, conflicts, compromises, and the unexpected can grind us down. Perhaps you've been thinking about having some relationship counselling or marriage guidance/counselling. Maybe you want to work out who you are or where you're going in life. Or perhaps some of the below scenarios resonate with how you’re feeling...

• Feeling sad or depressed, lacking motivation, disinterested in life.

• Feeling anxious in social situations.

• Wanting to improve your life but scared of change or don’t know where to start.

• Feeling as if you have no purpose or something's missing but you're not sure what.

• Feeling unloved, as if nobody cares, or everyone’s against you.

• Continuously preoccupied with your relationship.

• Finding it hard to control your emotions, feeling angry, or crying all the time.

• Seeking solace from alcohol, exercise, food, self-harm, or obsessions; worried you’re on a path of self-destruction.

• Bombarded by intrusive thoughts, worrying you might act on them. Thinking everyone would be better off without you.

• Suppressing feelings, avoiding conflict, or feeling resentful.

• Seeking reassurance, and feeling rejected when people don’t respond how you need them to. Or tired of always making the first move.

• Feeling ‘invaded’ by demands on your time or personal space, wanting to run away, or trying to please others at the expense of your own needs.

• Impacted by an affair, betrayal, bereavement, or ongoing misunderstandings, criticism, or feelings of abandonment.

• Suffering from a negative self-image or self-limiting behaviours which are holding you back.

Whatever you're experiencing or feeling, if it's impacting your mood and mental or physical health, talking it over with a professional can help.

About me and my therapy practice

I am currently studying a level 6 qualification in counselling supervision. My course runs till September 2022. I am offering REDUCED PRICE (£35/hr), monthly, online or phone supervision to a small number of supervisees for up to one year. Your year would supervision would begin from your first session with me, rather than being dictated to by my course dates. Once qualified as a supervisor, and at the end of your free year, I may extend the reduced rate for a further year to those supervisees who wish to continue working with me.

Places are subject to suitability and availability. This ad is live and will be removed once I reach capacity.

This opportunity may suit qualified counsellors who fit one or more of these criteria:

• Looking for an additional top-up to existing supervision.

• Newly qualified, with a new, small, or growing private practice.

• Experienced and wishing to 'give back' by being a supervisee to a trainee supervisor.

• Working in more than one role and require extra supervision.

• On a budget/an economy drive.

Practice description

I am offering supervision by phone or zoom. Sessions would be 90 minutes' long on a monthly basis. If you require a different length or frequency, please ask.

I am happy to work with supervisees of similar or different modalities and backgrounds to my own.

I use a tried and tested model of supervision, and am receiving ongoing support from course tutors, peers, and supervisory support from my own supervisors.  The latter will continue from September 2022.

In my own counselling work, I currently work with adult individuals and couples. I work as a counsellor and trainee supervisor for a national charity, and in private practice. I work with clients from all 'walks of life' and specialise in relationship counselling. I use an integrative approach in my private practice. My main modalities are psychodynamic and systemic, with 'light touch' CBT and TA, plus elements of other approaches as relevant.

I have a psychology degree, L4 and 5 qualifications in relationship counselling, a foundation certificate in Transactional Analysis, and have passed the BACP Certificate of Proficiency. I am an accredited practitioner of IAPT Therapy for Depression. I am committed to Continuing Professional Development, am a registered member of the BACP and currently working towards accreditation. I am also a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis.

Please contact me to discuss options.
