About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you are feeling constantly low, or anxious about something, or feeling angry a lot of the time and might have a low opinion of yourself and struggle to find self-confidence. There is a ‘root cause’ which the counsellor helps you to understand.
My role as a counsellor is to help you understand those feelings that might be hidden or repressed. Sometimes we repeat the same patterns of behaviour, which could be frustrating.
If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem, bereavement, childhood abuse, shame, anger, low self-esteem, narcissistic injuries, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphia, relational trauma created through family dynamics, I am here, as finding the right person to work with is an important step in your journey.
Psychodynamic therapy explores the significance of earlier life experiences in shaping our psychological development and our relationships as adults.
We will explore your past – and look at the present – to better understand past events, how they are remembered or re-lived, and what effect they may still be having, so that we can understand your present thoughts and what lies behind them.
We all have experiences that shape how we think, feel and behave in the here-and-now. Making links between the present and the past will allow us to understand where certain emotions come from; through the process, we learn new ways to move forward.
Getting in touch.
Seeking therapy can be challenging and daunting, and making that first call is never easy. In reality, counselling could make the difference between continuing to struggle or developing inner strength and self-belief to change.
However, when you are ready, I am here as finding the right person to share your painful experiences is an important step in your journey. At this time, I have a limited amount of spaces and I offer Zoom online or telephone. counselling - please get in touch.
