About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step towards counselling can be daunting, I would like to help you if I can.
Sometimes you need to be heard, truly heard.
To talk about whatever is on your mind, to be listened to without being judged or told what to do.
If you are feeling unheard, anxious, upset or overwhelmed, I am here to listen and help you to explore your feelings, to better understand them and feel more in control.
No matter what fears, feelings or concerns you are experiencing my aim is to provide a therapeutic relationship where you can feel accepted and understood.
I am shaped by both life experience and professional practice.
I have had the privilege of helping people to move from a position of feeling stuck to a place where they feel able to make positive changes in the way they think or behave. I love being on this journey with people and seeing the difference an effective counselling relationship can make in people’s lives.
All counsellors have their own counselling as part of their training and I found working creatively ‘unlocked’ so much for me. I have a passion for being able to incorporate creativity in therapy and am taking an advanced diploma in this area in Autumn 2019 to deepen my knowledge.
I am a professionally trained integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), working within their ethical framework.
I aim to be sensitive to the cultural and ethnic origins of individuals and to people’s religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
I offer counselling to individuals from all backgrounds aged 16+.
