About me and my therapy practice
"You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection". (Siddhartha Gautama).
I work with thoughtful, reflective adults who want to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful change.
(Please see my supervision listing for supervision needs)
I favour a tailored (Plauralistic) and very individual approach to sympathetically and effectively help with any issues that may be troubling you at this time in your life/lives.
My interest lies in helping people develop a sense inner strength and self evaluation that doesn't rely on changeable, outside influences and factors, but on a consistent ability to contact find peace and worth within. This often requires working on self awareness and self compassion that enables habitual, detrimental patterns to be recognised and altered. Many of these patterns and behaviours develop in early years as away of coping, but can become stuck, default settings - even when no longer needed or appropriate.
In my work with couples, I try to foster a positive atmosphere that recognises the many external and historical factors that can distort even the best of relationships. A third party can be very useful to create the firebreak often needed to be able see other alternatives and perspectives rather than be locked into adversarial cycles.
My role is always as a facilitator, and a strong emphasis is on collaboration. For positive changes to remain, they have to genuinely come from within, with belief.
Although I mainly work in person, online appointments can be arranged.
I have an advanced diploma in counselling and psychotherapy and my professional accredited status ensures high levels of knowledge and experience.
Fully insured and enhanced DBS certified. BUPA registered. Recognised psychotherapist for the main insurance providers.
Full disabled facilities and parking.

Practice description
It can feel like a daunting prospect to enter into counselling/therapy, but it's also a first, very positive step towards refusing to continue with the way things are. Rather than an indulgence, therapy can be a wise investment in your well-being; as an individual or a couple.
I use a variety of methods and techniques to help clients make sense of, move forward or take a new direction in their lives, and favour a flexible and tailored attitude and approach which deeply respects individuality. My aim is for clients to find their own truth, wisdom and strength and I find that combining latest methods and research with time-honoured practices is often a good way to achieve this
Person-Centered, relational values run throughout the work, and some of the methods and practical tools I use are:
Insight - Solution
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
MBCT (Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy)
Internal Family Systems
Mindfulness and Meditation
Wounded inner child work
Compassionate inquiry
Flash technique (part of the EMDR protocol)
Psychodynamic (subconscious) exploration and analysis
Creating change and acceptance
Insight & communication tools - couples
Body based / somatic tools
We could be dealing with past issues together; connecting with and giving a greater voice to the subconscious mind, or be working more in the here and now, and finding ways to break out of habitual ways of thinking or acting. Bringing about improved awareness to what are often automatic thoughts and actions can create options that may otherwise never be realised.
The goal is always a collaboration and partnership with the client/s. My role is that of facilitator.
Many couples find that they need help ‘finding’ each other again or are in a stuck pattern of relating; or perhaps need assistance in evaluating where they are now ‘at’ in their lives together. There are many factors that can distort and get in the way of authentic communication and a close bond, and a third party can help identify what these may be.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to get an understanding of what you would like from therapy. It's a chance to ask questions and generally get a feel for the process - as well as to unburden.
My wish is that you leave the initial session feeling at ease, hopeful and motivated.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer clinical supervision online or in person, following the British Psychological Society’s supervision framework, for which I hold formal certification. My approach is warm, collaborative and reflective, and I aim to create a space where practitioners feel safe to bring the full reality of their work — the uncertainties, the moments of clarity, and the areas that feel more complex or emotionally demanding.
I work mainly with qualified therapists who already have an established grounding in their practice and are looking for a thoughtful, supportive supervisory relationship. My style is steady and containing, with gentle challenge where it’s needed, and I hold an awareness of the natural power differences within supervision so these do not overshadow honest and open exploration.
Therapists are welcome to bring anything that feels present for them: complex client material, ethical considerations, relational dynamics, countertransference, boundary questions or the emotional impact of the work itself. I aim to offer alternative ways of thinking without imposing a particular modality or direction, always respecting the therapist’s individuality and established way of working.
My therapeutic background is pluralistic, drawing from a wide range of models. This breadth allows supervision to remain flexible and responsive, supporting practitioners to think creatively and deepen their clinical understanding. My intention is that supervision feels grounding and enriching, and that therapists leave sessions with greater clarity, confidence and connection to their own therapeutic voice.
Practice description
I am an accredited member of both BACP and NCPS with substantial experience as a private practitioner, giving me a clear understanding of the emotional, ethical and practical realities therapists meet in their work. My aim in supervision is to offer a thoughtful, grounded relationship where practitioners feel supported in the ongoing development of their clinical thinking and professional identity.
My clinical background includes work with adults and extensive experience in couples and relationship therapy. Joint work brings a particular set of challenges, such as managing differing perspectives, shifts in alliance, attachment sensitivities and the intensity that can arise when partners are in conflict. I help supervisees explore these dynamics and make sense of what emerges in the room, strengthening their confidence in working relationally.
I work pluralistically, drawing on a wide range of therapeutic models. This allows supervision to remain adaptable and responsive to the needs of the individual practitioner. I respect that therapists have their own preferred ways of understanding and engaging with clients, and my intention is to support and extend that rather than direct them toward a single approach.
Supervision with me offers space to reflect on clinical material, explore areas that feel uncertain, and consider the impact of the work on the practitioner. Whether discussing complex presentations, relational processes, or the demands of working in private practice, my focus is on helping therapists feel resourced, steady and connected to their own therapeutic voice.
