Therapist - Tonbridge

Tonbridge TN12
Sessions from £60.00

I work evenings only from 5pm.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor and have worked with a wide range of clients across all ages in both the corporate and community sectors, in private practice, and in schools.

I trained and worked at the BACP accredited Counselling Centre in Tunbridge Wells for several years, and also as a Pyschological Needs Assessor and Online Counsellor for AXA Health.  I currently work in several different schools across Kent for Place2Be, alongside my private practice.

I am trained in Psychodynamic counselling, which means that my core focus is to help you to get to know yourself better, and to understand why you might be feeling the way that you do. I  recognize that everyone has different needs and all my work is client-led, flexible and blended with different techniques to ensure it is working for you.  Clients come to me with symptoms such as depression and anxiety relating to many different issues they might be experiencing.

I like to encourage you to look at ways of taking care of your on-going mental health. I will help you to identify your self-care needs and to recognize the importance of making these a priority in maintaining resilience and a healthy mind-set.

Practice description

I provide counselling both in-person in my counselling room in Matfield (Kent), and also online, using secure online platforms. I also provide Walk and Talk Therapy, which has been particularly helpful during the Covid 19 pandemic.

I am entirely open-minded and encouraging of diversity within my practice. I have a natural curiosity for difference and I like to discover and self-educate on issues that affect people from all different groups of society. I have worked in multi-cultural settings within the UK.

My first session

The first step with me would be a Pre-Therapy Assessment session, which is open for anyone to book with no further obligation. This will enable me to determine whether counselling with me is the correct path for you. It is also an opportunity for you to decide if you would like to work with me.

If I feel that I wouldn't be the right person to work with you, I can support you with signposting to another service.
