About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Lakshnie (Lak-sh-nee) and I have been in therapeutic practice since 2009.
I am a registered and qualified psychotherapist with a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an experienced therapist having worked both privately and in adult mental health settings in the NHS.
I understand that looking for a therapist can be daunting work but if you find the right therapist it can also be so impactful.
I encourage you to look around, meet with a few different people if you are able to and see what and who works for you and your needs.
My way of working is somewhat dependent on you and your wants from a therapy space.
I am trained to work with CBT, person-centred and attachment based therapy. I have done additional training in:
- Interpersonal therapy
- Emotional Regulation Skills
- CBT adapted to work with those that self-define as autistic or non-neurotypical
- introduction to outdoor therapy
The truth is that you could meet a number of therapists who list their qualifications and skills (like I have briefly) but there is a lot reliant on the relationship you build with a therapist and it will make a huge difference to the way you experience therapy/ counselling sessions. So, please do get in contact if I seem like someone you might like to work with.
I am currently offering sessions online only at the moment. I am also only offering 1-1 sessions at this time.
I receive monthly clinical supervision to ensure my practice is at it's best for all my clients.
My first session
The first session is 30 minutes long and an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little and for me to hear about what has brought you to therapy. You will also have opportunities to ask me questions about me and my practice to see if you feel I'm a good for you.
Our first session would be undertaken on zoom - I will send you joining instructions once we've agreed a time and date.
