About me and my therapy practice

My training began in 2008 with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Manchester. A psychology degree in the United Kingdom encompasses a generalist training that equips the psychologist to assist a wide range of people. Since then, I have completed two qualifications at Master’s level, a Master’s degree in Psychology of child development and a UK-based counselling training in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Leicester. Obtaining these qualifications has involved years of therapy, of supervised clinical practice and working with a range of psychological difficulties.

Practice description

I know that choices when selecting a professional can be overwhelming. Just by looking at the list of therapists that you can potentially select, and reading about different therapies that you cannot really understand might be frustrating.

Whether you are feeling stressed or depressed, you are facing a crisis point in your life or trying to find meaning, or if you simply cannot go on as you have been, I can help you to look at things differently and find your own new way of being. My practice is a safe, non-judgemental and empowering space. You can meet with me face to face in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, have telephone counselling or online counselling. I see people from different ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations, and I offer therapy in English and Greek.

My first session

When you first contact me, we will have a brief conversation by phone or correspond via email and arrange the initial consultation. The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to meet me and get a sense of what therapy is like. You will have the opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve through our work together and we will discuss whether weekly psychotherapy sessions can be helpful to you, or whether a different type of help would be more beneficial. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions or share any concerns you have about starting therapy and to decide if you like me, if you feel you can trust me and want to continue. During the initial consultation I will also gather some information from you such as contact details, brief family history, current medication, and we will talk about the practicalities of therapy (frequency of sessions and terms).
