About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited psychotherapist & counsellor offering support to adults, couples & young people 16+. I work in private practice and volunteer for a bereavement charity.

How we relate to ourselves and to others impacts our mood, our confidence, our outlook and self-esteem. I work to shed light on how our relationships shape us and how we can get stuck repeating patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us. When life is especially challenging such as in times of transition and loss, we need strong relationships to help us cope. Symptoms such as anxiety and depression take root when we are in a vicious cycle of relating ineffectively. Counselling provides a safe space where we can explore together what has happened in your life. I will be alongside you to help you make sense of your experience, allowing you to think and feel differently, to foster healthier relationships, manage internal conflicts, regain hope and reconnect to your own strengths and choices.

I trained in an integrative approach allowing me to use a range of psychotherapeutic theories and skills to ensure I meet the individual needs of each person. The connection between therapist and client is vital in determining positive therapeutic outcomes. I prioritise building a trusting, mutually-respectful, collaborative therapeutic relationship from which to explore whatever is troubling you. If we feel that I am not the right practitioner for you I will always seek to refer you to someone better suited to your needs.

Practice description

I offer weekly 50-minute sessions remotely via Zoom, in person sessions in Bridgwater or Taunton and also sessions via phone.

My first session

I offer a free 50-minute consultation, which gives you a chance to get a feel for how I work, for me to get an idea of your expectations for therapy and whether I am the right therapist to meet your needs.
