About me and my therapy practice

Welcome!

  • Perhaps you are going through a specific challenge at the moment, feel anxious, stuck or have a dilemma with which you feel you need some support.
  • Or you might want to explore a past experience that you feel is affecting you or your relationships with significant others. You are not alone on this, and I am here to support you.
  • My approach to therapy is warm, friendly and non-judgmental and my first aim is to help you feel safe, heard and understood in our therapeutic relationship.

Often therapy is about learning new ways to cope and think about situations, or it may be about finding better ways to communicate with others. Other times therapy may be about exploring recurring patterns, unconscious deep-rooted feelings and memories that can affect our behaviour.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy to individuals and couples. I am an integrative therapist registered with the BACP  and trained in many psychotherapeutic approaches including Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. This means that we can tailor the sessions to suit your individual requirements. I also offer one-off sessions if you believe you would benefit from a more practical, psycho-educational approach to your problem. However, please note that any long-term, meaningful change from therapy requires commitment, as it is not a quick fix.

''I started my sessions with Georgia about a year ago to discuss different issues around my anxiety. Since then I've had to deal with multiple stressors that I was able to manage using the tools that Georgia provided me with and I've been able to succeed in the areas I wanted by having more confidence to go after my goals. Georgia's guidance, calmness, and support have really helped me in difficult times and I would highly recommend her.''  Testimonial by C.K.

''I've been doing fortnightly therapy sessions with Georgia for about two years now. My experience has been great and I will continue doing therapy with her for the foreseeable future. I feel more confident about myself and I am learning to see things through a different perspective''  Testimonial by C.M.

My first session

The first session with me will be an opportunity for us to explore the reasons you come to therapy and your aims out of this.

  • If you are coming to therapy for the first time, we'll discuss in detail how therapy works and how it can support you.
  • If you already have any previous therapy experiences, we will take this opportunity to discuss what worked for you in your past sessions or whether you have any other preferences regarding your therapy this time.
  • In this session you will get a feel of me and how I work. By the end of this session and if we both feel that we would like to work together, you will have a dedicated weekly slot in which we'll start exploring and working collaboratively towards your aims.

I welcome any questions so please do get in touch. I always aim to respond to you within the same day.
