We all struggle at times in our lives and there is no shame in reaching out for help. It can be an extremely hard step to take and from my own experience also a truly wonderful one.
Fundamental to my approach as a Person Centred counsellor is to offer a relationship of equality. Instead of advising you or telling you what to do I offer a non-judgmental and trustworthy space to help you explore difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I place emphasis on building a therapeutic relationship, believing it facilitates change to occur. Therefore I offer myself as a companion accompanying you on your journey, at your own pace, to help you gain clarity and perspective.
People come to therapy for a range of reasons; you may be struggling with lack of meaning in your life causing you to feel negative, a traumatic loss like bereavement or relationship break up. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety or depression or difficulty in letting go of painful childhood experiences. Whatever the reason I aspire to treat everyone as an individual and their experience as unique to themselves.
I am a member of the BACP and therefore abide by their code of ethics. I offer weekly therapy sessions on an open-ended basis or an agreed period of time. I am experienced in working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds with an awareness of race, gender, sexuality and cultural differences.
