About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor based in Wallsend, North Tyneside, offering face-to-face counselling in Wallsend and online counselling across the UK. I have worked with people for over 15 years and specialise in anxiety, stress and trauma.
I am an integrative, person-centred counsellor, which means that you are at the centre of our work together. I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you, your experiences and what you would like help with.
I have particular experience of working with anxiety and the effects of trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), OCD and other anxiety-related difficulties. My approach may include Transactional Analysis (TA), solution-focused approaches, NLP, imagery, inner-child work and exploring how past experiences and unprocessed memories may be affecting you in the present.
I am solution-focused whilst always working at your pace. You will not be pushed to talk about anything before you are ready.
Counselling is a very personal experience, and finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with matters. I therefore offer a free initial consultation, giving us the opportunity to meet and for you to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.
During your consultation, we can talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like help with and how we might work together. I am open and transparent about the way I work and welcome whatever you choose to bring to counselling.
I offer face-to-face counselling in Wallsend, North Tyneside, as well as online counselling.
You can book your free consultation through the “Book Your Free Consultation”link on my website or message me on my contact form or email. I look forward to meeting you.
Practice description
I am a person-centred counsellor in Wallsend, North Tyneside, specialising in anxiety, stress and trauma. I use an integrative approach, adapting counselling to your individual needs.
You are never wasting my time.
I work with anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship, low self-esteem, identity and imposter syndrome.
Childhood experiences and trauma
Neglect, abuse and difficult childhood experiences can affect how we feel and respond as adults. You may feel anxious, reactive or hypervigilant, or wonder why certain situations and relationships affect you so strongly. We can explore this safely and at your pace.
Neurodivergence and identity
You may be wondering whether you are neurodivergent, exploring autism or ADHD, or adjusting to a recent diagnosis. Counselling can give you space to explore what this means for you and understand your experiences through a different lens.
Relationships, abuse and coercive control
I have helped many people experiencing difficult or toxic relationships, emotional abuse and coercive control. Counselling can help you understand what is happening in your relationship, explore the dynamics between you and decide for yourself what you want to do next.
I also work with people who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, physical assault and emotional abuse. Whatever happened, and however you feel about it now, you can talk about it without fear of judgement.
If you feel sad, alone, isolated or misunderstood, you do not have to work everything out by yourself.
I also have extensive experience in occupational health counselling and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP).
I offer face-to-face counselling in Wallsend, North Tyneside, and online counselling.
My first session
Your first meeting is an online consultation, giving us a chance to meet, break that initial barrier and make sure we both feel comfortable.
You can tell me what you would like help with and ask any questions about counselling. If what you want to talk about isn't listed on my profile, don't worry the list is only a guide.
You can book your initial online consultation through the link on my website homepage and there is no charge for this.
Alternatively, you can message on my contact form or email me.
I look forward to meeting you.
