About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have experience of working with a wide range of issues: in schools, for agencies and in private practice. Working face to face, online, and on the telephone.

I am passionate about therapy and the benefits of having a confidential space in which to explore the difficulties and challenges that arise in life, as well as the personal growth that occurs when we get to know and understand ourselves better.

I am based on a quiet road in Allington (ME16) just outside of Maidstone town centre.

Although I would usually meet with you in person, in light of the coronavirus pandemic I am currently offering telephone and online sessions. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to explore ways in which you can safely access sessions - either now or in the future.

I continually access further training to develop my competence and knowledge and am a Mental Health First Aider.

I have professional liability insurance and an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Practice description

There are many different counselling models and I am able to tailor my approach to best suit your needs at the time. I aim to provide you with an opportunity to explore and gain a greater understanding of your thoughts and feelings, and a safe environment where you can potentially challenge and change aspects of your life and yourself.

A session lasts for exactly 50 minutes for either a mutually agreed number of weeks, (initially six to eight), or on an open ended basis. Sessions would usually take place on the same day, at the same time, each week, although I may have some flexibility if this isn't convenient for you.

Fees are £40 per session. Payment can be made in cash on the day of the session or by bank transfer 24 hours in advance, or by an alternative method by prior arrangement. Please note that cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will still be charged.

I offer a concessionary rate for counselling students of £35 per session.

My first session

Once we have made contact we will arrange a mutually convenient time for a first session, where we get to meet, decide whether we want to work together, see what support I can offer and how counselling might work for you.  It may feel quite daunting to take that first step and get in touch.  I hope to make that process as easy as possible and look forward to hearing from you.
