About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centered Therapist, which means I am part of facilitating your unique journey towards a more wholesome and connected way of being with yourself and with the world around you.
I work in a non-directive way, respecting and trusting your capacity to find the places to be explored, acknowledged or held. You are the center of your work, and I believe only when we can accept our position in center stage in each our lives respectively, can we live in such a way which feels comfortable.
The space we will create together is one of trust, acceptance, and authenticity; this can take time, and can feel a bit like a roller coaster. My commitment is that I will be alongside you for the ride, the ups, the downs, the 'who the hell am I anyways' and provide an environment which is safe to feel unsafe within, with the hope that by having unwavering faith in you, you will find your power and integrate it within yourself.
I will learn to be beside you, as you will learn to be with yourself, with the knowledge that this companionship can enable great change.
New Road Psychotherapy centre in central Brighton. It is situated from the first floor upward in a town house. The room I tend to work from is at the top of the building and is spacious and light. It has lots of art materials available and easy to access.
If you have any mobility issues we can see each other on a lower level.
My first session
First sessions are half an hour either face to face or on the phone. This is an opportunity for us to meet each other, talk a bit about what your hopes for therapy are, any specific things you'd like to work on, any ideas you have about how therapy works, and you can ask me any questions.
