About me and my therapy practice
At times we all need a safe harbour, a place to pause and reflect on our lives. The name of my practice is 'Space to Breathe' for this very reason. At Space to breathe my aim is to hear and value every person, to help you to explore and achieve your goals and discover your potential. Supporting people in the difficulties of life to heal and know you are not alone.
I offer 1:1 counselling in a safe and confidential environment for as long as each individual client needs. I offer counselling for individuals aged 18 and over.
I offer both short and long term counselling, depending on what is right for you. I would initially contract for six sessions and after this time we would review and agree how you would like to move forwards.
I work in an integrative way, mainly using a person centred approach with psychodynamic insight; however I also draw on additional tools such as mindfulness, gestalt, transactional analysis (TA), and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) depending on what is best suited to your needs. I am able to offer spiritual understanding rooted in my own Christian beliefs. Faith in-put in your counselling is optional and if this is something you would like, this can be discussed in our first session.
My first session
The first session is charged at a reduced rate of £20. It is an opportunity for us to meet and discuss your hopes for counselling and any questions you may have. As we talk I will complete an assessment in order to better understand your situation and background. At the end of this session you will have the opportunity to take time to consider before you let me know if you would like to continue with further counselling.
