About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapist and my working experience has been with a wide range of issues that, I believe, at some point in our lives most people deal with, from feelings of depression and anxiety, to relationship and personality problems, to losing meaning in life and intrusive feelings of loneliness and isolation. These issues may seem easy to describe in one sentence but they mean different things to each of us and this is what makes them complicated. The manifestations of these issues may seem similar to those of other people but the underlying problems vary to each person.
Counselling helps because it is a secure emotional environment where we try and unfold thoughts, feelings and unique (to each person) underlying concerns that seem to be burdening your decisions and life (in general). It sounds simple but unfortunately, it isn’t. At times it can be challenging to re-examine difficult situations or simply talk about current issues but talking through these moments can improve one’s life.
I offer psychodynamic therapy which is a type of therapy that emphasizes the importance of early experiences in life and through talking and analysing we come to new understandings, ways of being and relating to people and life situations.
