About me and my therapy practiceI am a qualified, experienced and BACP registered and accredited counsellor offering individual or couples counselling. Counselling sessions can be held either in the comfortable counselling room in my home, or I can offer telephone or online counselling via Skype/Zoom or Whatsapp. Be assured that you will receive a friendly and welcoming approach from me, so please get in contact and we can discuss your requirements in confidence. I offer a discounted rate for the first session so that you can make an informed decision about whether you would like to work with me.
I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a British Psychological Society Approved Certificate in Third Wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (which incorporates therapies such as: Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness) and a COSRT Approved Certificate in Working with Couples and Other Relationships. I am committed to furthering my qualifications and training through continuing professional development and have recently undergone additional training workshops in Psychological First Aid, Emotional Resilience, Attachment, Projection, Concepts of Bereavement and Loss and Information Governance (managing client information to NHS guidelines for confidentiality).
I have DBS clearance and a Level 1 Certificate in Safeguarding Training for working with adults at risk.
I can help with a number of different issues including depression. anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, abuse, bereavement, relationship problems and more. You may have thought the way you're feeling will go away eventually, but if it’s just not getting any better… you’re wanting to improve your mental health but can’t seem to do it on your own, then it may be time to get in touch with me.
I use an integrative approach based on Person-Centred Counselling but can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis. I provide a compassionate, emotionally supportive and non-judgemental environment, where you can feel safe to talk about what is concerning you. Through careful listening, reflection and professional insight I will support you in exploring the different aspects of the problems you’re having, so that you can gain clarity in what is happening in your life, heal from any past hurts, and find hope for the future.
My first session
The initial session will give us the opportunity to discuss what brought you to counselling and allow you to get a feel for what counselling involves and how you will benefit.
We can then consider whether we can work together, and whether you feel comfortable talking to me.
Sessions are held either in my counselling room, or I can offer telephone counselling or online counselling via Skype/Zoom/Whatsapp.
However, if we decide that I am not the right person to help you I will endeavour to identify a suitable alternative option.
