About me and my therapy practice
My work is founded on my own life experience of education, work, family, sport, and the coping strategies that get us through tough times such as bereavement, accidents, or relationship breakdown.
Counselling can help to develop self-worth, and the confidence to make life changes.
Traumatic events can impact on coping with daily life. Understanding your fears can help to put a new perspective on life now, in the present.
With a background of many years in the equestrian sports industry, I also offer equine-assisted therapy.
Animals can be so important to us. The loss of a beloved pet can be a traumatic experience, and counselling can help us through pet bereavement, a subject close to my heart.
Meditation can focus the mind and aid relaxation. Dreams and the imagination can be very insightful. As a Reiki Master Practitioner, I can use techniques to balance mind and body if appropriate to your needs.
Your past history may have an impact on how you are coping with life now and how you view yourself. We can explore the connections between your past and present experiences.
BACP Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic (Psychospiritual Model)
BACP Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
I aim to help you to understand your feelings and emotions brought up by life events, such as divorce, bereavement, or trauma. When daily life becomes a struggle, confidence and self-esteem can plummet.
It can really help to talk things through when coping at work, or at home, is difficult.
Face to face sessions are either outdoors in my lovely garden, fields, or in my airy therapy room, social distancing guidance permitting. For many clients, being in a natural setting can be more beneficial that being indoors.
I also work on-line using Zoom or Skype.
I offer short or long-term work with clients over the age of 18 years.

My first session
We will have contact by phone or email before your first session to work out what you would like help with at the moment, and book your first appointment.
In your first session, we will go through how the counselling process can help, and whether indoor our outdoor therapy would be of benefit to you.
A brief history about you and what issues are foremost in your mind is helpful at this stage. It is your choice what you want to talk about: you will not be made to talk about anything you find uncomfortable.
We also make plans for future sessions, but if you feel counselling is not for you at this time, you are under no obligation to continue.
