About me and my therapy practice
Looking for a counsellor and asking for help can feel daunting, and it is important to find the right counsellor for you.
Whatever you are going through right now or have been through in the past, I can offer you a warm, caring and confidential place where you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged.
I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and together we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, so you feel listened to and comfortable in our sessions.
I will not lead or advise you but encourage you to explore your lived experiences and emotions to help you find a better way forward.
I believe everyone is unique and I therefore adapt my approach according to your needs and what works best for you.
Practice description
Depending on your requirements, I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions, usually at the same time every week, and each session will last 50 minutes. The amount of sessions you attend depends entirely on you and your goals. Some people benefit from short term support to tackle a specific issue or to help them through a time of crisis. Some people prefer long term work and support.
My first session
I offer a free twenty minute telephone consultation enabling you to ask any questions you may have and to help you decide whether you feel I may be the right counsellor for you. I would ask you about yourself, your background and the issue(s) that bring you to seek help, to establish how I might help you.
You are under no obligation to continue working with me but if you feel I am the right person, we can discuss a regular session time.

Having the opportunity to look at things from different perspectives can help to make more positive life decisions and the changes we would like to see.
Counselling can help you cope with a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety; it can help you work through a difficult life event, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress; it can help you work through difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger, and emotionally and psychologically traumatic events.
