About me and my therapy practice
I am a dedicated counsellor with a decade of experience, working in helping roles.
I've spent my career supporting people towards improving their physical and mental wellbeing.
I’ve worked with vulnerable adults in the community to manage severe and ongoing mental health conditions such as PTSD, Schizophrenia, Severe Depression and Anxiety.
I also work as a Specialist Mentor supporting university students with ongoing mental health difficulties.
The Counselling Room:
I provide a safe and confidential space.
- A place you'll be met with warmth and understanding.
- Where you can fully express yourself, without judgement.
- A place you will feel heard and supported, each step of the way.
Initially we will explore what has brought you to therapy.
How life is for you currently.
And how you'd like your life to be.
We can identify where you are feeling "stuck" in life.
We can begin to challenge long held beliefs that may be holding you back and discover new beliefs helping you move forward.
We can process past and present trauma in a safe and controlled environment.
We can understand how you feel in relationships with others and most importantly, the relationship you have with yourself.
Working this way helps us to explore different parts of yourself.
Often we can get caught going through the motions, going through life on autopilot.
Developing self-awareness and tools in therapy, allows you to regain control and build momentum towards the life you choose.
To begin experiencing a life that is more meaningful, fulfilled and towards your true purpose.
*Throughout our work I will ensure to move at a pace you feel comfortable with.*
I also believe it's important to support your whole self during therapy.
Our work can involve working with each of the below aspects of your life:
The relationship between us in therapy is key for effective counselling.
This is a relationship built upon trust and openness with one another.
My first session
The First Session:
The first session is a free 30-minute call or video session.
These can be held in person for a small fee of £10 for 30-minutes.
This is an informal conversation and is a mutual assessment.
You are assessing whether I am the right fit for you, and I am assessing whether I am best placed to support you.
All questions are welcome during this session.
There is no pressure to decide on the spot.
I invite you to simply make contact after you've had time to reflect.
When you feel ready to start therapy-
We will arrange the first session and discuss the counselling agreement.
Taking the first step:
I fully understand and respect the decision to enter therapy can be a challenging one.
It often feels like embarking on a journey into the unknown.
I do however wish to say, that I embrace the opportunity to walk alongside you.
If you feel ready to start your journey today- feel free to send me an enquiry.
Once received, I will respond to set up the initial 30minute session.
