About me and my therapy practice

Life can be difficult and painful at times and we could all benefit from a safe space to make sense of and process difficult emotions, develop our resilience and coping strategies.  

I am a qualified CBT Counsellor but can also call upon skills and experience I have gained through additional training in clinical hypnotherapy, coaching and person-centred counselling. This training enables me to offer clients a number of different routes into exploring their issues and finding solutions that can help them.

I can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma and low self esteem. I am also interested in helping clients resolve relationship issues (whether its in their personal or professional life), and work with clients to establish more healthy boundaries within their relationships.

Whilst our problems can often feel overwhelming and affect every aspect of our lives, the wonderful thing about counselling is that not only does it help to tackle immediate sources of distress, the positive effects can create ripple effects across different aspects of a client's life. Therapy can often alter deep-rooted habits and behaviour, and replace these with new ways of operating which are better for our general health and wellbeing.

Practice description

The majority of my sessions are done online (via zoom) or via telephone. As I am based in a rural location with a wide variety of walking paths and trails nearby, I am also able to offer outdoor sessions for clients that would prefer to work in the fresh air.

My first session

I fully appreciate that the first session working with a counsellor can be quite an anxiety-inducing prospect and will work with you to make sure we take the first session at a pace that is comfortable for you. I would encourage you to get in touch and we will find a way of working together that will work for you.
